The sun was raising on the land. The air was fresh, as in the very beginning of the winter. The usual birdsong was replaced by the light whistling wind. The snow hadn’t reach the little land but everything was ready to welcome the new season.

It was in this ambience that (Name) left her slumber to slowly open her eyes. (Name) was a nice and loved young Duchess, raised by her father. Her mother died a long time ago, leaving her girl and her husband alone in the running of their land. (Father Name) was good. A real great man always there to listen to the people of the villages around. Everyone lived in a fairy peace which seemed to be eternal.

After some stretching and yawning, (Name) eventually left her warm and cosy bed to be prepared for her day. She had her own routine and occupations during the day. Lessons, being around some influent people, being there to listen some villagers and all. She loved her life. She knew she was fortunate, expect for the loss of her mother, she had almost everything a young girl could had asked for.

When the sun was way higher in the sky, (Name) was reading some of her favourite book in the library of her mansion. It was true she loved reading but more than that, it was being ready for some adventures. Even if she knew it was for a security reason, she couldn’t really go outside of her own place. Her father had told her many times that some rival villages were ready to do anything to get some money or favours from bigger marquis or another leader. And being her only daughter, (Name) knew she had to do as her father said. But it was also true, sometimes she just dreamed to be able to go around the closest village, just around a market or being able to choose herself a new book in a little bookstore.

But it was just another day, ordinary day in her ordinary life of an ordinary girl.

The fresh air of the morning was still present around the mansion as the time was passing. Being bored and feeling the nostalgia was coming at this moment of her day, (Name) decided to grab her warm cloak to go around her garden. Despite the chilling wind, it was her second favourite place in her home. It reminded her the times she could play hide and seek with her mother, behind the huge hedges. This place was full of memories.

As she was walking around the trees and bushes, humming her favourite melody, she heard a noise in the thickets. She looked behind her and saw nothing unusual. Thinking she was only her imagination, she continued her pace.

She finally stopped herself on a bench, looked up toward the sky and enjoy the sight of the colours of the last autumn days. There was no sound aside the wind in the bushes. Until she realised the wind wasn’t that noisy. She quickly was on her feet when she realised that a tall man figure was in front of her. He was really, really tall, and (Name) wasn’t so petite herself. It took her two seconds to register what was happening when her eyes finally grew bigger and turned around to come back inside of the manor. But the man was definitely faster than her and right after a “tsk” sound escaped his lips, he caught her with such easy.

She tried to scream or struggled to free herself, but the grip of the man was too strong and he quickly covered her mouth.

“Don’t make it so difficult sweetie, it will be far faster if you just keep calm and meet the prince already.” The voice of the man was low and strong but (Name) wasn’t really ready to make it easy. She tried to bite him, struggled even more, fighting with all her strength.

The man let once more time an annoyed sigh left his lips when he reached a little flask on his belt.

“Sorry, sweetie, but you asked for it and don’t leave me a choice.”
And with this words, (Name) couldn’t see nothing but black everywhere around her, and feel nothing.

🌹

When (Name) finally opened her eyes, she realised she was moving despite being still. It took her a few seconds to realised she was cared on a horse. She turned her face to see no one but the man on her garden.

“Stop this instant and let me come back home!” she attempted to reason her kidnapper. She tried to struggle once more today, but his grip was definitely stronger and all she could do was losing her energy.

“Sorry sweetie, but we have already reached our destination.” The man let a chuckle leave his lips as he made a sign with his head for her to look in the direction of a great castle.

(Name) couldn’t help it but being agape by the vision of this immense palace in front of her. She never knew a so great castle was on her lands. She felt herself being lift up and her feet reached the ground. She made a quick move, but the all man was one more time the faster of them. He put a hand on her back, gentler than before, pushing her into the right direction of the main doors.

No words were exchanged during the time the man guided her toward the castle. Passing upon hallways and corridors, seeing so many different rooms. It was nothing like her own mansion. Eventually, the man stopped and opened a huge door, letting her stepping inside.

She took a great inspiration, searching some answers in the eyes of this tall man, but he simply made a quick nod toward the room. She eventually walked into what she assumed to be a study room or something like that. At the end of a great table, she saw a man. Smaller than the one who had brought her there, he had a deep crimson hair. His face was hidden behind his hands. He finally lift his head up, revealing by the way a smirk on his face and two different eyes colours.

“(Name), you’re finally arrived among us. I was afraid Daiki had lost his way to your house. I hope he treated you well, right, Daiki?” His eyes left (Name)’s figure to reach the man she assumed was Daiki. The said-Daiki bowed politely to the red haired man.  What did he expect? That her arrival was voluntary and she wanted to be there?

“I’m sorry to ask you that, but where am I and why am I here? And who are you?” She tried to stay right, but the look of these walleyes was a bit too strong for her. The view seemed to amuse the young man as he approached her.

“Right, (Name). I haven’t introduced myself. I’m Seijurou, the Prince of the (land’s name). But you’ve probably heard of me as the Damn or the Cursed Prince. You’re in my castle and for the reason of your presence here, you’ll find about it soon enough.”
His words left (Name) speechless. Seeing she was feeling the effect, Seijurou made a move with two fingers, calling Daiki.

“Now, (Name), Daiki will escort you to your quarters. You have the absolute prohibition to leave your room after the sunset. If you need anything, just call, someone will come and check on you. We’ll speak again tomorrow’s morning. I wish you a pleasant evening.”

And with these words, he turned on his heels, leaving the more and more confused girl in company of the tall dark blue haired guy. When he touched her shoulder with the intention to make her move, (Name) jumped, blinking her eyes and making her way toward Seijurou.

“Wait!” As she called him, he stopped and turned his head to watch the girl. “You can’t just kidnap me, command me to stay on my room and explain nothing to me! I want to go back home, now!” Her voice had risen until she finally let the last words in a big shout. She instantly regretted her behaviour as she saw his smirk leave his face. He was approaching her, being too close for her own liking. She made tried to move back when he caught her wrist, holding it in front of her.

“You will do as I say because I’m absolute and now, I highly recommend you to keep your mouth shut up and act like a proper lady in my presence. If I’m not understood right, I’ll make sure the message is recorded correctly. Am I clear?” His voice was no tainted with anger and (Name)’s wrist hurt her because of the tight grip. She only nodded, praying for the pain and these walleyes stopping hurting her.

“Good. You may leave now.” And with that, he let her go.

🌹

(Name) spent her first night in her room crying to sleep. Right she dreamt of adventure, but not that kind of adventure. She wanted to believe that her father will find her quickly, that that crazy guy will be punished for making her hurt.

When she opened her eyes, the sun had risen, but this morning wasn’t like the previous one. She was a room she didn’t know, captive of a man she never had heard about before. She sighed, praying that it was only a bad dream and she would be able to wake up soon. She opened her eyes, only to realise that really wasn’t a bad dream.
She made her way toward the unique window of the room, watching the tree bending because of the wind in a sweet regular motion.

“Lady (Name), if you’re awaken maybe you could join the Prince for the breakfast?”

(Name) jumped out of her skin, searching the origin of the voice which had spoken to her. Her eyes searched around the whole room to find no one. As she began to think she had dreamt, the voice reached her head again.

“Lady (Name), I’m just next to you.” And this time, (Name) was able to put a face on that voice. It was of the voice a young man with blue eyes and bright blue orbs. His face didn’t show any emotion but in a sense, (Name) could tell he wouldn’t hurt her.

“Who are you?” she asked the blue haired guy.

“Sorry Lady (Name), I forgot to introduce myself. I’m Tetsuya, the shadow of the Prince. Now, if you excuse me, I have to bring you to the Prince.”

Feeling that she didn’t really have the choice, (Name) docilely followed Tetsuya around the castle until they arrived in a dining room. The Prince, Seijurou, was already there, visibly waiting for her arrival.

“I wish you a wonderful day, (Name). I do hope your first night here was pleasant enough.” Said the red haired man as he took her hand to press his lips against it. (Name) quickly removed it before sending him a look full of anger and contemptuous.

“Are you kidding me? A pleasant night? I was taken from my home against my will and you think my night was ‘pleasant enough’?!”

“Fine, I guess you must be hungry. Let’s eat something to calm your nerves.” He proposed as he was taking place at his table.

“I definitely won’t calm down! I want some answers and now! Why am I here and what are you waiting from me?”

“It’s too early in the morning for shouting like that, (Name). Also, I thought that as a lady, you were taught to act like a proper woman. His tone was as controlled as the anger of the girl was rising. “Now sit down and eat.”

“I won’t sit down and eat.” She replied angrier”.

“You will do as I say because I’m absolute.” Was his answer as he lifted his eyes in her direction.

“I don’t care you’re absolute! I won’t be commanded by a man who can’t even bother give some legit answers to a lady. You’re pathetic!”

“Enough!” The sound of the hands of Seijurou against the wooden table echoed with his word in the room. “Take that back this instant.” Even with his low and dangerous tone, (Name) was blind by anger.

“No, I won’t. Now, if you excuse me, your Highness, I’m coming back to my room for the rest of my life!” and she left the room in a move.

🌹

Three days later, (Name) hadn’t left her room yet. Her anger against Seijurou was too strong and he never had made her a move to apologise, the only thing she thought he could do for now. Different guys with strange colour of hair were coming to bring her food and sometime, spend some moments with her.

This evening, as she was making her way to her bed, something had caught her eyes outside of the window. The first snow of the year. For the first time in days, she found some kind of enthusiasm and excitation. She took her cloak and left her room to gain the garden.

When she reached the main door, something caught her shoulder, making her jump out of her skin. She turned around, but found nothing.

“You shouldn’t leave your room at this hour, Lady (Name).”
(Name) knew the voice but couldn’t find Tetsuya anywhere. It’s true, usually it took her a few seconds but now, he wasn’t here.

“Don’t worry, it’s normal you can’t see me Lady (Name), I’m invisible right now.” Told the voice of Tetsuya.

“What do you mean you’re invisible right no- Oh my god!” The scream had escaped her mouth when she saw a group of different creatures arriving in the hall. A centaur, a huge tanuki and others, each of them with familiar strange hair colour and finally, making his way towards her, a well-known pair of walleyes, in the skin of an imposing…

“Beast…” Whispered (Name), frightened. "No, it’s- it’s impossible…”

“Now (Name), I thought that I told you to stay in your room after the sun set. I believed you were smart but maybe you’re not after all. What are you doing here?” Seijurou’s voice was calm but (Name) could feel he was angry.

“First snow… I wanted… see it…” Her throat was tied, it was difficult to pronounce any sound.

“I’m absolutely sure the view is wonderful from your room, you can come back there to enjoy-”

“No!” And she ran the fastest she could outside of the castle, she didn’t know where she was going but she needed to flee that damn place.
As she was running for her life, in the main hall were left the Prince and his men.

“Prince, you know that if she crosses the borders of the propriety, everything will be lost, nonodayo.” Said the green eyed tanuki.

“I know it Shintarou. I can’t let her do that. No Daiki, I’ll do it mayself. She needs to understand who is absolute here.”

🌹

(Name) ran desperately, praying she was on the right way, even if anywhere but far away from the castle was fine. She ran into the woods. Her feet hurt her. Her dress and cloak were torn. She was blind by the forming tears in the corner of her eyes. And then, she heard a piercing howling in the night.

More frightened than ever, she kept on running, only to be hold back. Her cloak was stuck into the branches. She tried to free herself when she saw glowing eyes in front of her. She thought she was finally over. Of everything, she was going to die devoured by wolves. She tried to protect her face with her arms as a wolf was coming closer to her.

She was waiting for the impact but it never came. Instead, she heard a moan. The wolves were now trying to attack their new prey. (Name), gave up her cloak and, with the soft light of the moon, finally saw the face of the creature which had helped her. Seijurou. He was fighting against the wolves ans eventually winning. A sigh escaped (Name)’s lips as she let herself fall on the ground exhausted.

🌹

When she opened her eyes, she had regained her room, the warm blanket covered her body. The sun was lighting the room, and (Name) saw a familiar figure sit next to her bed.

“I see you’re finally awake, (Name). It was absolutely foolish to run into the forest in the night. You could have been killed, do you realise that?” Despite his hard words, (Name) thought she had seen a hint of worry in his eyes. She blushed at his sermon and the thought he was there with her.

“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have run like that-”

“Of course you shouldn’t have.” He interrupted her.

“But you left me no choice!” She continued. “You scared me beyond death. You should have explain to me sooner and apologise for your behaviour toward me.”

“Excuse me?” For the first time, she saw the eyes of the young Prince grew bigger as the incomprehension was winning his face.

“Yes, like that. Honestly, your stubbornness is the biggest one I’ve ever seen. You’re always saying you’re absolute and all, but the absolute people are the ones who can admit their faults and apologise to someone when they hurt them.”

Seijurou was stunned. It was the first time someone dared to speak to him like that. (Name) seemed to realise her words and blushed one more time, waiting for an answer from the walleyed man. Instead, she heard a soft giggle next to her. She saw the Prince laughed, a sincere smile across his features. It was something she had never noticed before, that simplicity and kindness he was capable of, during a short time at least.

“Maybe you’re right, (Name). Perhaps you would accept my late apologies by taking a breakfast with me? He asked her, offering his hand to her. It was the turn of (Name) to smile before answering: “With a great pleasure.”

🌹

The days passed with a new routine for (Name). After Seijurou had shown her some kind of humanity, it was easier for them to spend time together. (Name) particularly enjoyed the giant library of the castle. One day, as she was reading on a couch next to Seijurou, she finally found the courage to ask him her question.

“Seijurou?” He replied a humming sound, letting her know he was listening. “Why does nobody know about this place or your curse? Why did you choose me to come here?”
Seijurou’s gaze left the book he was reading. He sighed before closing it and seemed like he was thinking about his answer.

“You see, (Name), when I was first touched by this curse, I’ve tried everything to not let people know. I was ashamed. But after some times, rumours had begun to be spread and everyone in the country knew. But things changed when I discovered the most pervert part of that curse. When someone crossed the limits to leave the domain, after the woods, they forgot everything about us. We’re doomed to be forgotten by everyone, in our cursed state. There is only one way to remove it.” He stopped a few second to meet the eyes of the girl next to him.

“If I can fall in love and make that girl fall in love with me in return, we’ll be all free. This is why, for years, I’ve asked to the boys to find girls around the country to make them come here? Once I realised they weren’t the one, I let them leave and they forgot it. It was simple, and yet useless.”
When he had finished his story, (Name)’s eyes were misted by the forming tears.

“But, that means if I have to leave, I will forget you?”

“This is the general idea, yes. Now, you should go back to your room and get prepared for the diner.”

“Seijurou, wait I-” She began.

“Now, (Name).” His tone was firm, like it used to be a few days before their encounter.

“R-right. I see you later, Seijurou.” And with her words, (Name) didn’t guess Seijurou had made an important decision.

🌹

“You want me to what?” Asked the young girl the next day.

“I asked you to leave this place tonight. Right before the sunset. I’ll walk you until the boundaries and you will never come back here.” He answered her. (Name) was agape. She definitely didn’t expect this.

“Wait, you can’t just tell me to leave and-” She began but was quickly interrupted by the red haired man.

“I can and I will. You’re smart enough, I’m sure you’ve understood what I told you yesterday. You knew this day would came, and the sooner, the better. You will eventually be able to see you father and come back to your home, it was your wish, right?”

“Yes but-”

“Pack your belongings, say goodbye to the guys, we’re leaving tonight.” She tried to call for him, but he already had left the room.

🌹

At the end of the day, (Name) was ready, waiting for Seijurou. The walk until the end of his domain was quiet. Neither of the two wanted to begin to speak. When they reached the final limit, Seijurou eventually began to talk.

“Here you are, (Name). Go now, before the sunset and your last image of me will be my human form.” His tone was almost pleading. For the first time, it wasn’t an order nut a request.

(Name) nodded, not wanting the Prince noticed her watering eyes. When she was in front of the line, she turned to him, watching one last time his walleyes, his flamboyant red hair, his beautiful features, the way his hands were slowly clenching the fabric of his travelling cloak. She made a last wish, whispering for herself and crossed the line.
She waited a few seconds then turned on her heels. Seijurou could have sworn she was watching his her direction.

“Seijurou? Are you sure you haven’t mistaken the limits? Because I can remember everything about you.” She told him. Her voice was full with emotion.

But Seijurou couldn’t just believe it. He shook his head, unable to pronounce a word at this instant. Then he look toward the sun which was disappearing. (Name) looked in the same direction than him and it was then that she realised and began to run toward Seijurou. She reached him and crashed herself in his arms. He caught her easily, letting a giggle escaped his lips as he hugged her tightly.

“Seijurou, your eyes! They’re both red!” she exclaimed as she took his face in her hands to look closer. It took him a few seconds to progress what had happed. Then he looked at his hands, seeing they were both clean, no fur. Even the feeling of the (Name)’s hands on his face was soft. It was the night and he was still in his human form. He lifted (Name) up and made her turn in the air before letting her land on the ground. It was now his turn to take her face in his clear hands, his thumb wiping her tears, admiring her beautiful features.

“Thank you. Thank you (Name) for given me a chance, seeing who I could be behind this beast skin. Thank you for letting me love you.”

(Name) finally let all her happiness tears leave her eyes as he approached to let their lips meet in a sweet kiss. Maybe her last wish had been heard finally.

“Let me love you.”

Akashi Seijurou x Reader [Beauty And The Beast] |AU|
Words: 3,953

Hello Everyone! I hope you're all fine! Here is my first Akashi x Reader insert, and my first AU AND my first entry to a contest.
Yes, this story is for the first contest of the wonderful JenThaoS , I'm crossing my fingers.

It's the first time I'm doing something with more than 1,000 words and... it's long. I hope it isn't too long. But let me know if you want more long OS in the future.
For the story, I was really inspired by the fairy tale "Beauty and the Beast" (no really, I swear) but it doesn't follow the real plot. I had a few more scenes I wanted to inclued but it would definitely have been too long.

Maybe one day I'll write the point of view of Akashi because I think he would have say a lot of things (and give to the Generation of Miracles their little moments, because some scenes could have been pretty funny).

So once more,
don't hesitate to give me your opinion! If you have any remark, criticism, saw any grammar/typing mistake, please let me know!

Have a lovely day!

Kuroko no Basket and characters belongs to Tadatoshi Fujimaki
The Beauty and the Beast original story belongs to Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve and Disney
The AU and plot belongs to me
